Japanese Sword Auction System for Global Users for Aoi Art

Project Overview
A project to build, on WordPress, an auction system for global users operated by Aoi Art, a renowned Japanese sword dealer in Yoyogi, Tokyo.
The previous auction system was quite old and cumbersome to operate, so the client asked us to renew it. The key requirements were:
- Auctions
- Translation
- Member registration
- Order management
Challenges
With a budget of around 1 million yen, we determined that building from scratch was not feasible.
We therefore chose WordPress to meet the required functions.
By building each function with plugins, detailed custom development became unnecessary, allowing us to devote more effort to resolving issues arising from combining multiple plugins and to fine-tuning the UI.
Our Approach
To make daily operations easier for the client, we added JavaScript that provides shortcuts and other usability improvements to the WordPress admin panel. For performance, the site runs on Kinsta, one of the fastest managed WordPress platforms in the world, keeping software and security always up to date.
The site uses WooCommerce and plugins from overseas such as Ultimate Auction.
