FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can we migrate data from our existing student information system?
Yes. ATTEND provides bulk CSV import, so you can bring in student, class, and parent data exported from your existing system as-is. If your data uses a special format, our team will help with the conversion during onboarding.
Does it integrate with Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace?
ATTEND supports single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft 365, so users can sign in with their existing accounts. We also have experience connecting with Google Workspace; please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Does it handle setups that differ from typical attendance management, such as dormitory students or advanced courses?
Yes. ATTEND is designed around morning attendance at KOSEN colleges, accommodating complex enrollment categories such as the five-year regular course, the advanced (post-graduate) course, and transfer students, as well as students commuting from dormitories. During our pre-implementation consultation, we'll propose the optimal settings for your school.
Can it track attendance for each class period (per subject)?
Currently, ATTEND specializes in attendance at the time of morning arrival (per morning homeroom). Reflecting how KOSEN colleges actually operate, it focuses on days present and days absent on a daily basis rather than per class, keeping the workload minimal for both students and teachers.
How are security and personal data handled?
ATTEND runs on AWS, with all communication encrypted via TLS and databases kept on encrypted storage. We implement access control, audit logging, and regular vulnerability assessments, and operate in compliance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
Is there a trial or free demo?
We're happy to give your school an online demo (about 30 minutes) at any time. A limited trial environment for trying selected features can also be arranged. Please feel free to get in touch.
Can we switch over from paper registers or Excel?
Absolutely. Most of our deployments are switchovers from paper or Excel. After reviewing the format of your current attendance registers, we'll propose a step-by-step migration plan.
